Purpose

The invention was created to protect the aerodynamic fairings on a semi-truck while it is being towed backwards. The Fairing Saver clamps on the inside and outside of the fairing, so it can be towed. Once clamped to the fairing, the user will take a small ratchet strap and hook it to each clamp and ratchet it snug. The invention can adapt to any thickness of fairing and locks in place with the ultimate in holding power. Semi-trucks can then be towed as normal without worry of fairing damage.

Story Behind the Invention

Jeremy Ragan

Inventor Jeremy Ragan of Woodward, OK has created a device to protect the aerodynamic fairings on a semi-truck from damage while it is being towed backwards.

Jeremy has been in the towing industry for over 20 years, and they used to be able to tow trucks backwards. He talked to many dealerships and mechanic shops regarding how they felt about putting the drive shaft or axle back in. They all told him they did not like it. Jeremy certainly knew how bad it is to lie in the mud, snow, rain, hot asphalt, or dirt to pull a drive shaft. He just knew there had to be a way to save time, money, and aggravation for the towing operator and wrecker company. The Fairing Saver is his solution.
